Connecting Schools of Prophets:

Building Literacy for Radical Discipleship

We are excited to announce the theme for our 2022 online Institute: “Connecting Schools of Prophets: Building Literacy for Radical Discipleship.” We’ll talk with colleagues who have been experimenting with curating such spaces around North America; review the recent history of such labors; and examine our strengths, weaknesses and prospects going forward. Watch this page for program notes as things shape up.

Because we all are so Zoom fatigued, we’ll offer a scaled down version of what we did online in the 2021 BKI. But we want again to provide space for kindred spirits to connect, so we’ll offer 2.5 hours of critical conversation and needed fellowship each day from Feb 18-21. We hope you’ll join us.

4 Daily Sessions

from 4pm Pacific (7pm Eastern)

to 6pm Pacific (9pm Eastern)

Followed by optional mingle and caucus rooms after the main program.

BKI2022 will be online:

After much deliberation, BCM staff, Board and Program Committee are in consensus that we should again hold the Bartimaeus Kinsler Institute online. There were many factors in this decision, including: the often excruciating difficulties of travel; the new Covid variant and another pandemic winter; and the risk of gathering people from many zip codes in one room. So for our movement’s health and safety, we’ll gather our community online, Feb 18-21 (President’s Day long weekend).

Join us to stay connected with our network of diverse kindred spirits! Given Zoom fatigue, we’ll keep the BKI2022 program short and concise: just a couple of hours each evening. We’ll offer brief meditations, stimulating conversations, updates on the great work being done in our BKI community, and after-hours “Mingle Rooms.”

Registration opens December 15th

Watch this page for program information as it develops.

The sacred tree of life symbolizes both the preciousness of our planet Earth and how holy spaces are found not only in church. We are a community of winding branches and roots, forming the glorious family of God, gathered together in thanks and praise. --Kelsey McKenzie (www.thecreativekel.com
