Why: We are mindful that political and personal landscapes have changed since we last convened in the Ventura River Watershed… What hasn’t changed is our deep need for ekklesia—kindred spirits committed to faith and justice who gather for discernment and reflection, support and solidarity, nurture and remembering, courage and joy… [more]
Where & When: We know that the best thing that has happened at our Institutes since 2007 is how we and you have met and befriended each other, forged connections and fostered collaborations… Is there a critical mass of beloveds and believers willing and able to come together again at Camp Forest Home Ojai Valley from 4 pm Feb 20 (a national holiday) to noon on Thursday, Feb 23. What: Fittingly, our time will include Ash Wednesday. Together we’ll take time to re-boot, renew, re-vision and recommit to the Way ahead. Our BKI program will be a mix of:

Sponsorship and Scholarship
As always at the BKI we invite our participants to include an optional donation to our scholarship fund. BCM is a community supported ministry and we extend this to our Institutes. If you are able, please include your donation amount on your registration form and add it to your payment (note donations are tax deductible to US residents, let us know if you need a tax receipt).
Scholarship discounts on registration will only be available based on donations received and will be applied at the Budget/Commuter accommodation package rate.

This year we return to Camp Forest Home Ojai Valley at 615 Burnham Rd, Oak View, CA 93022. Details on registration packages are below. You will be fully registered once we receive both your form and payment.

Standard Registration: Forest Home Cabin
Forest Home cabins are divided into one room with two bunks (4 beds) and one room with 3 bunks (6 beds) sharing an indoor bathroom. You will need to bring you own sleeping bag, extra blanket, pillow, towel and toiletries. Cabins have power and heating.
Prices: Standard: $475 check/$489 PayPal
Budget Registration: Forest Home Platform tent (or BYO tent)
The platform tents at Forest Home have a solid floor and walls and canvas roof. There are 8 bunk beds per tent. As with Cabins you will need to bring you own sleeping bag, extra blanket, pillow, towel and toiletries. Bathrooms are in a separate building, a short walk from the tents.
Note: there is no heating in the platform tents. The bring-your-own tent option is no longer allowed.

Commuter
For those who prefer to arrange their own accommodation or will be staying off-campus, the commuter option is available. For Ventura and Santa Barbara County residents, please contact us for our local community discount.

Motel upgrade - Very Limited Availability
The Oakridge Inn is the most budget-friendly motel in the Ojai Valley and Scott the manager gives us his best deals. The Motel is about 2 miles from Camp Forest Home, and will suit those who need a little extra comfort and privacy, and in particular those with their own transport.
Note: places are very limited at and may sell out early. Please do not try to book your own accommodation at Oakridge during the BKI as you will get a worse rate and take away beds from us!

Day Trip
We encourage everyone to participate in the whole Institute if possible, but if you are unable, we will be offering day rates. We cannot offer one or two day packages which include accommodation.
Day rates are only available for Tuesday and Wednesday and will be for a fixed price of $135 check/$139 PayPal
Kids rates
Unfortunately the venue charges all children aged 3 to 18 at adult rates, but we will offer rates as low as we can. Children aged 0 to 2 (under 3) only need to cover minimal costs. Depending on attendance we will try offer some children-specific activities. If you would like to help with providing children's activities, please let us know by email.
